Monkey song!
auch hier wäre es seeeehr nett, wenn dies korrigiert werden könnte! LG

Skills:
The children sing a song and learn English words and phrases in a playful way. The song is learned with a variety of senses (multisensory).
• linguistic skills: understanding a series of introductions; understanding the song’s lyrics; singing an English song
• cognitive, motor and social skills: moving to the rhythm of to the song; singing the song together with the class; remembering the song’s lyrics; singing rhythmically

Introduction:
part I
1) The pupils stand or sit in a circle. Before you begin, explain the children that they should imitate your movements. Do the movements to the song in succession without saying anything. It is important to follow the beat of the song.
Monkey song
Sing this song to the tune of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”
The itsy bitsy monkey climbs up the coconut tree.
(mime a monkey and the do as if you are climbing up a coconut tree)
Down comes a coconut and bumps him on the knee.
(form your hands to a big ball [coconut] and move them to your knee)
Out comes his mommy and wipes away his tears
(do as if you are walking/ walk in place and wipe your tears away)
And the itsy bitsy monkey climbs up the tree again.
(mime a monkey and the do as if you are climbing up a coconut tree)

2) Call and Response: Speak rhythmically, clearly and slowly the first line of the song and do the movement. The children should imitate the teacher.
3) The children should close their eyes and listen carefully to the song. Hum the melody of the song. Let the children open their eyes again. Hum the first line of the song and the children should hum after you. Do the same with the rest of the melody. Arrange the whole melody step by step. Hum the whole melody together with the children (from the beginning to the end).
4) Connect the lyrics with the melody (Call and Response). Sing the song with the whole class.
5) Sing the song again. The children should try to sing and do the movements simultaneously.

part II
Let the children take one of the percussion instruments. Arrange the song with these percussion instruments.
• Let the children play with their instruments the regular beat, the rhythm or some effects.
• Replace some words with the sound of an instrument (e.g. monkey > play the bongo).  E.g. The itsy bitsy *sound of bongo* climbs up the coconut tree.
It is important to follow the beat of the song.
For children with several handicaps singing a song is a good experience. They get stimulated by the rhythm, the English lyrics and the movements.

Hallo
klingt alles gut,
ein Fehler:"moving to the rhythm of to the song"
das to ist zuviel
Den letzten Satz versteh ich nicht:
"several handicaps"
unterrichtest du Kinder mit Mehrfachbehinderung?
Warum sagst du nur dass das für behinderte Kinder gut ist, was ist mit den "Nichtbehinderten"
Gruss leduart
